Rise of Artificial Intelligence
Wikipedia defines Artificial Intelligence as — “ Artificial intelligence (AI), sometimes called machine intelligence, is intelligence demonstrated by machines, in contrast to the natural intelligence displayed by humans and other animals.”. Through advances in deep learning and machine learning in general, it is now possible to build intelligent models that are increasingly getting to human level competency in their niche domain. These models include classification of images into hundreds of categories, smart agents that can answer questions based on context, machine translation and speech to text conversion. Deep Learning has enabled us to train on massive amounts of data and solve these problems that were previously too difficult to solve using our traditional algorithms.
AI is projected to radically change the way many businesses operate and we can help you apply this benefit to your business. Looking for complete solutions from top artificial intelligence consulting will surely enhance your experience and provide you a way to get the best of AI. Let experts from Deep Learning Analytics help you by providing more information and complete artificial intelligence consulting.
This is a good blog on difference between machine learning, artificial intelligence and deep learning.
Two Main Branches of Artificial Intelligence
Artificial Intelligence is projected to be the dominant technology of this century. I think that in the coming years, the work in this field will split into two main branches:
- Applied Artificial Intelligence — This branch focuses on applying artificial intelligence to a variety of practical problems. These problems can include things like tracking people in extremely crowded scenes, detecting objects in aerial images, automatically summarizing videos and text etc. The reason there is so much focus on this is that today we have what is called “ Narrow AI” defined as AI which is able to handle just one particular task. As I mentioned before we are able to build models that can get to human level accuracy on a single task. And this is remarkable! This has huge industrial applications. I call people who work in this sub field as Applied AI practitioners or researchers. And I am one of them!
- Artificial General Intelligence — This branch of artificial intelligence is focused on building “Strong AI” agents or machines that are more generally like humans and can reason like humans across a variety of problem domains in contrast to Narrow AI that we currently have. I foresee this being a big research area for this century. Most of the existing experts do not yet agree on when we can have artificial general intelligence though there is a general consensus that at some stage machine will have general intelligence.
Demand for Artificial Intelligence Researchers/Practitioners — Should you Build talent?
Artificial Intelligence Researchers and Consultants are in a high demand right now. Over the past three years alone the number of AI-related job postings on Indeed has increased by 119 percent, according to the platform’s latest AI talent report. With AI projected to create 2.3 million jobs by 2020, according to a Gartner report, I think it’s safe to assume that artificial intelligence will remain an in-demand skill for the foreseeable future.
Directly hiring artificial intelligence researcher to work for your business has some challenges:
- Cost — Salaries for AI talent is through the roof right now making it difficult for smaller start ups and organizations to afford to hire them.
- Variety of Skills — Machine Learning/AI has several of sub areas of specialization in it — Computer Vision, NLP, Reinforcement learning etc. Usually engineers especially those coming out of university will have strength in one area, example they might be very good at computer vision problems. However many businesses have problems of a wide variety requiring teams with different types of machine learning talent and hiring and creating this eco system can be impossible for most small businesses or start ups.
- Long Artificial Intelligence pipeline: Finally if you are hiring a full time person it would only make sense if you have a long pipeline in front of you. If you are just starting to get your feet wet with one or two use cases then this is not an option.
Artificial Intelligence Consultants to the rescue — Rather Buy for now
This is where Deep Learning Analytics comes in. My artificial intelligence consultancy hopes to address all these problems. We are a team of talented AI practitioners who have delivered over 100 custom AI models to clients around the world.
- Cost by the hour — You only pay for the time it takes to complete your project. No full time salary, no benefit. And we have a very competitive hourly charge
- Multi skilled team at your disposal — My team has people skilled in Computer Vision and NLP who have solved tough problems in these domains. I also have a small team for deployment of AI models. This is a huge selling point for my clients since we are a one stop shop for any kind of model they want built
- Perfect for one off projects — If you are just getting started in AI then it is perfect to use our artificial intelligence consultancy. We use experience accumulated from our projects to deliver new projects efficiently. Also you own the finals models and code and we are not interested in IP. So buy for now. As you see long term value it may make sense to build your own team then.
Our passion is in applying artificial intelligence to a variety of domains.
